LIGHTS ON FOR OFFICERS LIU AND RAMOS Once again, The Wanaque Police Department is asking ALL residents to turn on their porch lights in memory of New Yorks Finest, Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos. The two NYPD officers were ambushed and executed in their patrol car on 12/20/14 while working a crime prevention detail in the 84th Precinct. Please keep a nightly porch lamp vigil for them and the Thin Blue Line the remainder of the month. This is a small tribute that will show Wanaque’s resolve to honor Liu and Ramos memory and show solidarity for the NYPD. Chief Tom Norton stated, These officers served this country and the City of New York displaying their commitment to the citizens of the United States, the State of New York and New York City with honor and distinction. Our thoughts and prayers are with the NYPD and the families of the slain Officers.” The nonprofit corporations 53 Hours and Heroes Memorial Foundation is organizing this memorial for the officers. The event is being coordinated by the organizations through Facebook. Registration and information can be found on their page at https://facebook/events/1515217362094503/?fref=ts
