LIKE A COAT FROM THE COLD A weekend of work and half a day - TopicsExpress

LIKE A COAT FROM THE COLD A weekend of work and half a day over, Mole mooching today after a lazy weekend wiv Ratty. On Saturday we met up at the Trago lounge after Moles final banjo lesson before Christmas, Ratty suffering from the effects of bad cold so was on the mulled cider. Mole had ordered the coffee and hated it and we skipped over to Kates Café where the ham and cheese croissant and a pot of tea for two went down well with Mole who paid the bill. Ratty had the lentil soup trying to shift his cold. Then it was back to South Stoneham for Ratty to have a snooze and Mole to get ready for Christmas. They had decided to take a rain check on clubbing and went over to the Crown behind the University instead and Mole looked at Ratty and suggested it was his turn to pay. It was and he put his card behind the bar and they pushed the boat out with two halves of London Pride and ordered up their usual smoked haddock fish cakes with a bowl of chips to share. While they sat waiting for their food Mole spotted a lady in a beautiful ornate coat. The coat looked Mexican or Spanish a black coat with decorative edging sides and back of entwined roses. Mole urged Ratty to go and ask where she bought it. Tell her your missus wants to know . . . Mole from time to time makes these Freudian slips whilst convincing herself this relationship just goes from day to day. The lady smiled when Ratty asked her and signalled a hand of fives to Mole to say it was five years old. She had bought it in Toulouse. Ratty noted down that he must be on the look out for a Toulousian coat akin to something that the Flying Burritto Sisters would have worn. Mole was looking pretty good tonight anyway. A new pair of boots from Portswood and her dandy little red hat and the coat she wore to Canada and Idaho earlier this year. Reminded me alot of the girl on the swing in the middle of the Canadian rockies. She still didnt know what Ratty had brought her for Christmas and he wasnt saying anything. The smoked haddock fish cakes and the bowl of chips went down well with more London Pride and cheesecake and ice cream for Mole and French apple tart wiv custard for Ratty. Perfict. On his day off tomoz while Mole is at work, Ratty will wrap Moles Christmas presents and be smiling just to thinking about them and imagining the smile on her face when she unwraps them. https://youtube/watch?v=TKKn2JJX2r4
