LINGAA - the die hard film-goers who still firmly believe MGRs Ulagam Sutrum Valiban or Sivajis Thiruvilayadal is playing in the talkies next to you... This is the movie for u.. its to the credit of the director, KS Ravikumar who managed recreate a films of 1980s without losing any element of it as late as 35 years down the lane. The visualizations, be it song sequences (palatial locations, royal costumes, colorful backdrops, 100s of ladies, hero-rescuing-the-herione songs...), the chase and stunt shots ( where cars and bikes shake and the background moves), the fights, the melodrama, the sentiments, the camera tricks and even the deadly powerful bombs etc etc etc.. yes KS Ravikumars world seems to advance only when he shows future in songs.. otherwise hes still in the 1980s. May be hes yet to know that the likes of MGR and Sivaji ganeshan are no more... (Yeah theres something new in this movie, its heriones. Thank god they still dont retain the 80s heroines in their on-screen sweet 16s ) The next credit goes to creativity of the story writers who somehow manage to weave a brand new story keeping the core values of the man had it all, loses em all still intact.. and still different from Annamalai, Muthu, Basha, Arunachalam, Padaiyappa, Shivaji...n more to come. Kindly do some justice to this great actor, to see whom lakhs n lakhs still pour into the theatres. Its not the Solaiyur village or the dam that this man saves in reel life. This one man, in real life just saved Eros International and Rockline Entertainments, from sinking...
