LISD is currently seeking individuals interested in serving on the district’s School Health Advisory Council (SHAC). SHAC serves as an advisory council providing recommendations, changes and/or additions to the schools’ health education curriculum and instruction for consideration by LISD’s Board of Trustees and also discusses issues and concerns impacting the entire district. SHAC includes people who represent diverse views in the community about health programs and materials - parents, teachers, school administrators, students, healthcare professionals, members of the business community... The council meets at least four times a year on Wednesday evenings. To obtain an application, please contact Melanie Vincelette, LISD’s Director of Health Services at [email protected] or 469.948.2008. Applications must be submitted by Sept. 6.
