LISD received good news from our vendor for student and business - TopicsExpress

LISD received good news from our vendor for student and business information systems, as well as our grade book (txGradebook) and parent portal (txConnect). The internet service provider for these systems has been successful in stopping the attacks that caused the intermittent outages of txGradebook and txConnect (both the web-based parent portal and the mobile application). These outages inhibited access to grades and attendance by parents, students and teachers. The outages resulted from the distributed denial of service attacks being launched against the vendor for LISD information systems. These sophisticated and malicious attacks are designed to flood the network with useless internet traffic and render it unavailable for users. These issues have affected all txGradebook and txConnect users across the state. We have been informed that several organizations in south Texas are experiencing issues related to these attacks. We have been assured that at no point during these interruptions has there been any data loss or damage to the integrity of the system. We apologize for the interruption and the inconvenience this outage has caused. We realize that the timing of this unexpected outage has created significant disruption. We have been assured that our vendor is continuing to do all that they can to resolve the issue. We will continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation and will provide updates as necessary.
