LITERACY AND UNEMPLOYMENT I am sorry, this is a - TopicsExpress

LITERACY AND UNEMPLOYMENT I am sorry, this is a fact!!! During my recent researches, I was shocked to discover that, AS LITERACY RISES, UNEMPLOYMENT ALSO RISES. So, does this imply that we should fight against Literacy so that people get jobs? Funny enough, my research produced a stunning conclusion (but a fact as well), Zimbabwes literacy is currently seating at 92.34% (92%), coincidentally, Zimbabwes unemployment is leveling at 92.13% (92%). What should be done now? People really need Jobs out there, well, people really need papers as well. We are often told that, Get your papers in order! or Be Educated, so that you get a decent job. But in as much as people graduate with significant degrees, we see these same people, going into the streets selling newspapers and airtime. Initially, I failed to blame the government, or any institution, or any economic unit, rather, I stopped short at blaming the illegal sanctions. I wondered, however, asking myself if really the sanctions have crippled our economic system to such an extent that we can not employ each other. But as I was busy trying to blame the Sanctions, I threw the snake back to the government. This time, I wanted to know how the government has designed its academic system to suit the indigenous economy. Zimbabwes GDP Per Capita is even less that its GNP per capita. Why? Because, our education system does not match the economic system in our country. Therefore, SOME graduates (especially those who afford) are seeking employment in other countries, because their degrees fit the economic systems there. In as much as our literacy rate increases, levels of unemployment will always rise, until a reform has been made to the education system so that it produces graduates who fit in our countrys economy. We are tired of reading books with Case Studies from South Africa and Britain whilst we have an running country that we can get Case Studies from, our nation. The EDUCATION and EMPLOYMENT bill should be passed into parliament, seeking reforms in the education sector (the Syllabi and the reading material), in order to create INDIGENOUS GRADUATES.
