LITTLE MISS SASSY PANTS *** LEIA *** came to Bar Double 9 Equine Rescue in October. When she arrived she was uncertain how to behave so sometimes she was unpredictable, bossy or a bully. She is still a pistol and always will be I think. She is a SWEETHEART. LEIA likes to stand at the gate to her pasture in hopes that I will stop by and give her some love. WALLY adores her. The neighbors dog loves her. She is beautiful with a glossy coat, strong feet, long thick mane, soft brown eyes and a stocky cow horse conformation. LEIA wants you to love her but she also wants you to be the leader and if you are not then she will be. She is curious, very SMART and will watch you like a hawk as you work with her. She has a lot of try and wants to please. She has agility and spunk. Oh and did I mention that she is F*A*S*T and has some very athletic moves? She is a pro at leading, whoa, backing, giving you space when you feed her, picking up and cleaning all 4 feet, yielding the shoulder, yielding the hind, fly spray, putting on her fly ask and halter and coming when you call her name. She is confident walking and trotting on the lunge line and is working on canter. She has worn a bareback pad with the cinch tightened. She is working on being tied (at this point the lead rope is merely looped around the rail), bathing, brushing the tail and more desensitizing items like towels, hats and plastic bags. LEIA is currently 19 months old. She is not ready to be ridden yet and wont be for quite a while. She is here growing up. Keep your eyes on this girl. She is going to be something pretty fancy.
