LIVE FULLY, DIE EMPTY! PART 3 2Kings13:21 and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet. One of the tragedies of life is that, there are people who are a walking cemetery of talents and potentials, they have buried everything within and they are not prepared to do anything about it. We live in a world of constant challenges and it is easy to be trapped in the daily routines and challenges of life, before we know it, years have gone by and life has ended. The purposeless life is aptly captured by the nursery rhyme of Solomon Grundy. Solomon Grundy, Born on a Monday, Christened on Tuesday, Married on Wednesday, Took ill on Thursday, Worse on Friday, Died on Saturday, Buried on Sunday. This is the end Of Solomon Grundy. (5) The race of life is run on the lane of purpose: It is often said, that it is the life in the years that counts, not the years in the life. Methuselah lived long but nothing was recorded concerning him as regards fulfilment of purpose. On the tombstone of a missionary, the following words were written, “when he came, there was no light, when he died there was no darkness”. It is evident that this person though dead, had impacted lives before his departure from the earth. Jesus our prime example, lived for thirty-three and a half years, within this period, he fulfilled his purpose while he was dying on the cross, he said. It is finished; he finished the work of redemption of mankind. He emptied himself, he lived fully, and He died empty. (6) Identify your purpose. Jesus identified his purpose for living, “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world” John 18:37 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. David discovered purpose: Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: Purpose prevents abuse; there are people who discovered and deployed their potentials in the wrong direction. Adolf Hitler was a man who used his influence and potentials to bring sorrow and sadness to many lives. When our potentials are not deployed on the platform of divine purpose, we can become an earthly success but an eternal failure. (7) Purpose is a differentiator. Knowing what your purpose is, determines how you will deploy your potentials and abilities. Your purpose directs every fiber of your being. You cannot do everything, but there is that which you must do and that is your assignment. Some things may be permissible to others but your purpose makes it impossible for you. Paul said: 1Corinthians 10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. Consider Daniel: Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. POWER PILL: The race of life, is run on the lane of purpose. Download or listen to audio:LIVE FULLY, DIE EMPTY! PART 3 2Kings13 21 and_1
