LIVE IN READINESS Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man Is coming at an hour you do not expect. Matthew 24:44 Success in the New Year will require that you live in a state of readiness and expectation. You can never tell when the opportunity of your lifetime will present itself. The things you have been expecting or praying about can easily materialize at a time you are totally unprepared. I remember paying a surprise visit to one of the branches of our church one Sunday morning, only to find out that the pastor-in-charge was out. This pastor had been trying to get me to visit him in his church for a long time, but on the day I actually came through, he had gone somewhere else. That is how things often are with most of us. We pray, trust God and expect things, but fail to prepare for them. Our expectations must be matched by preparation. An entrepreneur who is trusting God for a breakthrough must, at least, have registered his business. It is ironic that you should trust God for a big contract or business opportunity only to be disqualified because your companys audited accounts, tax clearance certificate or some other basic regulatory requirement is outstanding. This year, do not wait until it is too late to get prepared. Do what is required in order to take advantage of the opportunities God will bring your way. The reason for this state of readiness is because opportunity does not come when you are ready; it comes when it is ready. It is therefore imperative for the things you are praying for or aspiring towards in the New Year.
