LIVE from Portland, Oregon: It’s the JOE CORNWALL SHOW: MOSCOW 2013 COVERAGE MEN’S 400 With no Jamaican in the final, I was resigned to sleeping, sleeping, sleeping. Who won again? I saw the replay and here is how it went. What was supposed to be a race between Merritt and James turned into the Merritt show. DEMERIT, DETENTION and MERIT Well Merritt put on a master’s class and we were all schooled. Nothing tainted here because one smaddy cyaa so silly but who knows. TONY, TONI, TONE He held on for the silver to give the U.S. the quinella. SANTA CLAUS DO YOU EVER COME TO THE GHETTO Yes indeed he did because Santos came from nowhere to win the bronze. He said, “he grew up poor in D.R. and had to run without shoes. He said he had blisters and his feet would bleed as a child.” Well if a so it go, you’ve come a far way. BRINGING UP THE REAR Fourth through 6 th Borlee, Maslak and Masrahi and I must say I felt sorry for Borlee because he was right there. He lost in the last 2 meters to a fast finishing 19 year old and alas the dreaded tin medal he must hug up. THE KING JAMES EDITION Never in my life would I have imagined I would have seen this. Anybody who say so A LIE(in my Rosie voice). L.O.L. Here are my observations. JAMES’S ROAD TO GLORY 2009-World Youth Champion 2010-World Junior Champion 2011-World Champion 2012-Olympic Champion The man is tired. He is a full time student and must balance living in farin as a Caribbean man child, school and a professional running career. His last 4 years were filled with triumphs but in year 5 came tribulation. The truth is he ran his worst race of his athletic career in Moscow last night. Sad but a so it go. He can brag that he is the only person to go from World Youth to World Junior to World Champion to Olympic Champion. Not even the great Usain Bolt or V.C.B. can boast about that. He is the only non-American to run sub 44 seconds. James abandoned his race strategy when he saw Merritt ahead of him. James instead of maintaining his composure and running for second tied up badly and came home in second to last. There is a lesson to be learned here for WARREN WEIR because the last person who challenged the inform Bolt on a curve threw away a sure medal and ended in fifth place. That person was Steve Mullings. Ladies and gentlemen, verily, verily I say unto uunu. Warren is the real deal but he needs to tek sleep and mark death. Can he beat Bolt in the 200? I say yes. I say if he goes with Bolt from the gun he will expend too much energy and may pull a King James instead of a SILVERADO. I say run your own race and then make a mad dash in the last 20 meters. CONCLUSION So in closing I say to Kirani, “the world is your oyster.” You will live to fight again. GOOD MORNING youtube/watch?v=qDScTugxMUs
