LIttle free advice for everyone. I learned the hard way. Remove the ring under your gas cap and check the condition of the oring. My bike had repeatedly been getting water in the fuel system and I had been going round and roung with changing fuel filters, strainers, pulling and cleaning injectors. I was looking at parts on ebay, came across the cap locking ring, saw the bottom and light bulb. Sure enough, flaaaat, hard, metal wat corroded in places and you could see water had been just pouring right into the tank. There was even water under the ring when I removed it. Since it only takes a teaspoon of water to seperate these new eth/gas blends Im sure I found my problem. Got a metric oring kit at harbor freight, largest one is little thicker than original. Cleaned and polished ring, greased, put oring on and reinstalled, (using a rag so not to drop the screw in the tank). Im 99.999% sure problem solved and now my cap goes on smooth!
