** LOCAL FISHING REPORT ** Maroochydore A few jew at night along the north shore of the Maroochy River mouth, sand whiting in the lower reaches, flathead at the Cod Hole and creek mouths, queenfish and mangrove jack around the Bli Bli Bridge and trevally, sand and mud crabs in the middle reaches of the river. The trevally have been best on the last of the flood tide. Mooloolaba Tailor, flathead and whiting along the beaches, trevally along the La Balsa Park reach of the Mooloolah River, sand crabs in the lower reaches and mangrove jack and mud crabs in the canals. Before the wind freshened; school mackerel at Currimundi Reef and around the NW Fairway Buoy. Caloundra Flathead and bream along the Boardwalk, sand whiting off the NE tip of Bribie Island, on the banks out from Military Jetty and at Bells Creek mouth, queenfish on live bait around Military Jetty, mangrove jack in the canals and mud crabs in the creeks. Donnybrook Flathead and whiting at Mission Point and 112 and sand crabs in the main channel. Bribie Island Sand whiting along the southern end of the island, jew at night under the Bribie Bridge, bream in the canals, sand crabs in the main channel and mud crabs in the creeks. There have been a few flathead along the western beaches; however most have been over the maximum legal size of 75cm. Remember to throw the big ones back, as they are usually breeding females.
