LOCAL NEWS Antrim-based Kerr’s Tyres has today announced 14 new jobs across their Antrim, Belfast, Coleraine and soon to open Newtownards tyre centres. Following an investment of more than £1,000,000 in the business, the jobs will range from tyre fitters, breakdown fitters, mechanics, mobile mechanics, apprentices, IT personnel and assistant managers. It is understood that five of the jobs being created will be based in Antrim. Norman Kerr, Managing Director of Kerr’s Tyres, said: “We have experienced sustained growth in the business in recent years and following a review of our business plan we have decided that the time is right to invest in further growth and expansions for the business. “We are particularly pleased to announce the opening of a new Tyre Centre in Newtownards to serve the Ards & North Down areas in the New Year.” Recent months have seen Kerr’s Tyres announce large fleet contracts with the likes of Hannon Transport, Montgomery Transport and the Henderson Group, implement customer services training for all employees in the company andthe company believes this recent investment of more than £1,000,000 will see Kerr’s Tyres establish themselves further as one of Northern Ireland’s leading tyre distributors.
