LOCAL ORGANIC PRODUCE: We have been contacted by Inglewood Farms - TopicsExpress

LOCAL ORGANIC PRODUCE: We have been contacted by Inglewood Farms out of Alexandria about their Fall CSA. The dates are September 27-December 18 and each share of the goods will be delivered here every Thursday. If we can get enough interest (30 people) this will replace our current Produce Program. We have tentatively scheduled an Inglewood Farms afternoon here at the store for Wednesday, September 10 from 3-6 to meet them and see what they are all about. They will only come out if we have enough people sign up in advance to make it worth their while to drive from Alexandria. Items vary according to the season, but we can expect to begin with all types of peppers, eggplants, field peas and move into salad mixes, micro greens, loose lettuces, etc, then the winter squash, bell and other peppers, root vegetables such as kohlrabi, beets, carrots, turnips and radishes will lead into broccoli, cauliflower, head lettuce and they are hoping for some fall tomatoes. They also have available fresh pork, occasionally fresh chicken, and you can add fresh eggs to your weekly share for $55 for the 12 week season. The cost of a share is $324. I believe they have a payment program where you pay $200 down and the rest in installments, if needed. By joining the Community Supported Agriculture program at Inglewood Farms, we are helping to support the effort of bringing more local organic food to the area and to bring more awareness to the need and availability. In order to get credit for anyone who signs up (in order for us to meet our minimum and have them come), we need to have your name on our list here before/when you sign up. At this time there is not a DeRidder sign up on their website, we will have to sign up under Leesville and let them know you are on the DeRidder list. As with our current program, we are not making a profit off of this community service, but Inglewood is offering us a free box for promoting it and bringing it to our community and allowing them to drop the boxes off at our store. I am excited to be a part of this opportunity. If you are going to purchase a share, please let me know. If you want more information see ingelwoodfarm Thanks! Terri
