LOCALS~The following has been on the district website and my BOE page since Sept. 4. I would hope that there will be more than 100 people in attendance tonight. Bring your kids, THEY will be the ones inside this building when completed, their ideas are welcomed as well. From the district website: Interactive Design Meeting Students, parents, and community members are invited to an interactive meeting to discuss the design of a second high school. The meeting will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 6:30pm at Elkhorn Crossing School. Students, parents, and community members will have the opportunity to share thoughts and suggestions with architects from Sherman, Carter, Barnhart, and Associates. Your input is valuable and greatly appreciated, please make plans to attend. Please share this, post it on your own walls, talk to your student, your friends, your spouse, your favorite cashier at Wal-mart, K-mart, Kroger, your pizza delivery person, your coaches, your doctors, dentists, baristas at Starbucks, and anyone else who lives, works, or pays taxes in this county. Please come to this meeting. Please come to every meeting regarding this new addition to our community, and our school district facilities. I am committed to communication about this project to everyone listed above and more. Your input on design, both interior, exterior, parking, lighting, landscaping, water usage, the way the sun is used to enhance the classroom lighting, bathroom facilities, cafeteria/auditorium, band rooms and your visions of this dynamic space is most welcomed. This building will impact this community for decades to come. Please come. Share your ideas.
