LOCUS OF CONTROL Those with an internal locus of control tend to attribute results to their own traits, whereas those with an external locus of control tend to attribute events to external, environmental traits. #internal = winning Those with a high internal locus of control are also more likely to assume that their efforts will be successful and are more active in seeking information and knowledge concerning their situation. Internals are also more likely to work for achievements, to delay gratification, and to plan for long-term goals, whereas externals are more likely to lower their goals.
