LOGAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE DEPUTIES INVOLVED IN SHOOTING Scranton, Arkansas On Friday, October 25th, at approximately 9:00 AM, Deputies Jason Massey and Thomas Hobbs responded to a report of someone with a gun at a residence on State Highway 197 near Scranton. Deputies Massey and Hobbs made contact with a white male at the residence who was armed with a handgun. The white male fired his weapon and the deputies returned fire. The white male was shot in the hand and transported to UAMS in Little Rock. Neither deputy was injured during the incident. The Arkansas State Police and the 15th Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident. Deputies Massey and Hobbs have been placed on paid administrative leave while the case is under investigation.
