LONDON? CenterStage band had just received a letter and direct call from Mrs. Rachel Bolton, the Human Resource Manager of Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts in London, asking the band to perform regularly at the hotel for 1 year contract, with salary grade of 3,500 in British pounds (P242,000). The hotel management will also process the UK legal entrance, working documents, and flight tickets. For the past years, we’ve been receiving the same invitations through emails and calls for performances abroad, particularly in China, Singapore, Malaysia, and Macau. Though it has been said that opportunity hardly comes to knock the door twice, we regretfully decline the invitation as we always look for the welfare of the band members. Female vocalist Phoebe is studying HRM at Holy Name University, while keyboardist Mags is taking up BS Architecture at the University of Bohol. Female vocalist Grace is currently an SK Chairman of Talisay City, while male vocalist Julius is a nurse. Bass guitarist Noel serves as the Barangay Secretary of Haguilanan Grande, Balilihan, while drummer Ariel works in the advertising, marketing, and PR Department of the Alturas Group of Companies for 20 years already, and also sidelines as a radio anchorman of DYRD, freelance writer of The Bohol Chronicle and The Sunday Post. CenterStage band is also enjoying a series of bookings and gigs, and a regular performance at Lazer Party Club of Bohol Tropics Resort, every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. So, why the need to go abroad? Sayang, but we have to stay here! There’s no other place like home…
