LONDON Night Life - 01 For the boys – Meatliquor. You’ve gotta queue in the freezing cold for a bit, but for burgers this fine it’s worth the chilblains. With great beats, cool styles, jam jar cocktails and burgers that melt in your mouth (and add 5 inches to your waistline but trust us, it’s worth it). Get the Victoria line to Oxford Circus and it’s a 10 minute walk from there. 02 For those who need a dim sum fix – Grand imperial bar. You don’t even need to leave the station for this one, head to Grand Imperial Bar and get oriental. This feng shui’d bar boasts some of the best dim sum in London as well as some delicious cocktails. We say hit the sake and get the last train home at 4am from Victoria. 03 One for the parents – Rules. Take your parents (or a date) to the oldest bar in London - Fact. Head upstairs and you’ll find a fantastically camp old school gentleman’s cocktail bar. We’re talking beautifully presented cocktails served with a slab of Stilton, hell yeah. Take the Victoria line to Green Park and then change into the Piccadilly line to Covent Garden. 04 Impress a date – Experimental cocktail club. This bar is pretty well hidden (look for a shabby chic bar door with a splash of red paint on it), so you’ll immediately impress with your secret knowledge. Dress well and you should get past the hot Parisians who run the joint, Exquisite and unusual cocktails. Take the Victoria line to Green Park then the Piccadilly line to Leicester Square. 05 If you’re a bond fan – Dukes. Quite hard to find (it’s nestled down a quiet alley), but it’s worth it. We love Dukes in a big way, they are very nice and make some very fine Martinis. This bar is the birthplace of the Vesper Martini and it’s where Fleming stayed when writing Bond. Shaken not stirred please. Take the Victoria line to Green Park. 06 If you’re a cave man – Gordon’s wine bar. London’s most original, smoke stained candle lit cellar bar, it’s hopelessly romantic and we love it. Take a date, its dimly lit so youll both look great in this intimate ambience, booze is plentiful, and heaped plates of stilton and pickles flow. Take the District or Circle line to Embankment.
