LONDON PARENTS - My wife and 2 kids & I will officially be living there in a few days. If you are online and bored and also nice, would you consider answering my nervous dad questions? OK! Im American but have a job and a visa and will be paying taxes in the UK. Can my 3 yr old get that magical free 15 hours of childcare? If so, is it up to me how thats divided, i.e. could he do 5 hrs 3 times a week, or 7 hrs twice or something? Whats a good glossary of terms, like what exactly does creche, child minder, and nursery mean? I ask because some things we dont have in the US (parents are punished for having kids and/or getting sick here) and others mean different things. Can anyone recommend a childcare situation in North London? Specifically in [contact me via message if you want to know]. Can my 1 year old go to the same daycare as my 3 yr old, even though we know well definitely have to pay for him? THANK YOU VERY MUCH for even reading this if you are a nice London parent.
