LONG LIVE JAMES THE FIRST OF THUNDER BAY! We are just 5 weeks away from a municipal election, so I think its time I roll out an alternative I proposed some years ago on radio. My suggestion was then (as it is now) that what this city really needs is not a mayor but a king... namely, me! No voting required for a position like that! And as to my qualifications, well, my Mum was a dead-ringer for the Queen; and people have been calling me a royal this or a royal that all my life. So, there has to be something in it. God knows, the work is easy enough: cutting ribbons, waving at crowds, sitting for a portrait to be used on the china well sell to eager Americans. And in return, I promise to stay well out of politics and to try and keep any family scandals to a minimum. But the citizens of Thunder Bay had better hurry if they want me for their monarch, because Ive had a very interesting offer from Scotland.
