LONG ROAD TO LIBERATION: AN EXPOSE OF CIA INTRIGUES IN SOUTHERN AFRICA IS HERE I say, comrades, after Cde Keshii Khanhi Nathanael s Journey in Exile and then Cde Samson Ndeikwilas Agony of Truth, the Long Road to Liberation promises to become the latest exposure of how Swapo, under the leadership of Cde Sam Nujoma, has become a pawn on the chessboard of bitter Cold War rivalry between the West, on the one hand, and the East, on the other hand. In the book (see cover pictures below), its author, Cde Hans Beukes, strongly suggests how Cde Nujoma, Cde Theo-Ben Gurirab, Cde Peter Nanyemba, Cde Hage Geingob and Cde Hidipo Hamutenya, to name only a few, played a decisive role in crushing the radicals and Marxists within the liberation movement, Swapo, in exile on behalf of, and in accordance with, CIA. Hoor, hoor! The radicals were,of course, led by Swapo Youth League. The grand design, better known as Detente, was all in accordance with the Cold War plans by then US President, Cde Richard Nixon, and his then foreign minister, the very cunning US Secretary of State, Cde Henry Kissinger, who, by the way was, admittedly also a personal friend of CCdeNNujoma our father who art from Mopani tree region. The grand plan, which eventually succeeded, was to install in Zimbabwe and Namibia moderate, anti-communist and pro-Western regimes, led by Cde Robert Mugabe and Cde Sam Nujoma, respectively, which would secure US economic and other strategic interests in southern Africa. And it worked perfectly! Writing from a vantage point of having been an eyewitness to most of those nefarious CIA intrigues, Cde Hans Beukes narrates in finer and authoritative details how CIA could eventually outfox the Soviets in Angola with the active collaboration and even collusion from then Zambian and Tanzanian Presidents, Cde Kenneth Kaunda and Cde Julius Nyerere, on the one hand, and then apartheid South African Prime Minister, Cde John Vorster, on the other. Comrades, can you hear? It is as if my own Expose of Nujomas CIA Connections has an alibi? Cde Hans Beukes also exposes a conspiracy of silence and joint criminal enterprise by the Church(i.e. ELCIN and LWF in particular), the so-called Anti Apartheid solidarity groups and the governments of Sweden, Norway and Finland as well as UN (Council for Namibia) in the face of real and imminent gross human rights committed by Cde Nujoma and his cohorts against thousands of Namibian freedom fighters in Zambia in the mid 1970s. The book is available from Orumbonde Books CC (call 081 284 1021) at a price of 265 Namibia dollars.
