LONGTERM SUFFERING (TRIAL OF FAITH) AND SOME OF THE EFFECTS I have not defined and talked briefly about the word suffering and or trial of Faith as I assume you should have known some salient points about these words... Suffering sometimes may not be synonymous with trials of faith (1 Pet 3:17)...but herein I assumeably assume they are synonymous... However, these are some of the points of the effects of Long term suffering on people: 1. Several Advices would be heard, these advices could be: (a) wrong (b) Right. However, wrong advices may want to have its grip on the persons heart because the person would be in urgency to get out of such precarious situation, particularly if it is a long standing one eg Gen 16 (Sarai advise to Abram), Jobs wifes advice 2 her hubby etc 2. Lost of confidence in self, 3. Lost (or reduce) of confidence in Prayer (Mk 9:22), 4. Temptations/thoughts to backslid will be high 5. Fear from people to talk to the person, because they will think the person may think they have come to mock or deride him/her, as such, those people may sometimes go on for years without having a good counsel from people, 6. Spending a lot of money (Mk 5:26) 7. Passing thru a lot of horrible experiences (Mk 5:26), 8. Several fastings (2 Corinthians 12) which sometimes may result in frail body and this again will lead to reduce immunity which will give room to opportunistic infections affecting the persons health and which will result in the person coming down with another diseases, another symptoms, 9. Lose of focus, vision and view etc. SOME OF THE WAY(S) OUT: 1. Dont avoid close friends, particularly sincere ones, try and open up to him/her, 2. Dont despise good counsels except if God says no to the advice as He overturned that of Ahitophel in 2 Sam 17, 3. Associate with prayer minded people, 4. Read Bible and apply it, 5. If you are not sure of having Holy Ghost, ask for Him until you are filled etc.
