LOOKING FOR THAT BLESSED HOPE “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.” Titus 2:13 What a blessing it was to listen to the conversation between my dad and the chaplain that came into the ICU to pray with Dad yesterday morning. I’m not sure who got the greatest blessing from that visit, dad, me or the Chaplain. Knowing how close we came to losing him and hearing him quote Titus 2:13 and assuring the Chaplain that he had that “blessed hope” no matter what happened, just touched my heart in such a special way. Dad has come close to dying so many times in the past few years, but it is times like this that show me why God has allowed his life to continue. He continues to be a witness for God. What a blessing it is to know that no matter how many times you have failed God and not been the Christian witness that He wants you to be, none of that will be held against you, if you have truly given your life to the Lord. He is the perfect part of this relationship. He is the one who has already paid for your sins when He took them to the Cross. He willingly laid down His life to pay for all the rotten things we have done. Thank You Jesus! Titus 2:11-14 “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desire and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possessions, zealous for good deeds.” Titus 2:13 is dads favorite verse, but the whole passage is worth reading. I hope you enjoyed it and I pray that you have asked God for the forgiveness of your sins so that you too will have that blessed hope my dad has. He has already done all the hard part for you because of His great love for you; all you have to do is humble yourself before Him, admitting that you are a sinner and do not deserve the wonderful place in Heaven He has already prepared for you, then ask His forgiveness of your sins and accept His gift of salvation. He wants nothing more than to give you the greatest gift you will ever receive this Christmas. A present that will change your life like no other! I want that for you too! What a comfort to know that when God does call my dad home that I not only have that blessed hope of going to Heaven to spend eternity with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but I will get to see my dad there too! What a comfort!
