LOOKING ON THE BRIGHT SIDE I know I do a lot of “doom and gloom” in my writing. In my own mind, I am only trying to reflect the reality of circumstances among us – and, unfortunately, that “reality” is not grounds for too much optimism. On the larger stage, many saints are oblivious to the threat of complacency and materialism and doctrinal ambiguity, and like Israel in Amos’ day, rest contented and resentful of any thought that might suggest a need for a major overhaul. My “bright side” for today? The evidence that is mounting that this concern is being felt by more and more concerned disciples, and there are increasing indications that people feel deeply enough about it to act.
