LORD, HELP ME (CONTINUED) By Pastor Bayo Adeyokunnu on Friday, 10/25/13 @ RCCG Chief Cornerstone Assembly The Syrophoenician woman had FAITH which Jesus commended her for. This is because as she cried after Jesus, he told her that it wasn’t meet to give the children’s food to dogs. In her persistence, she said “Truth, Lord. Yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their master’s table”! J...esus who was touched by this said to her “O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee as thou wilt”. The bible tells us that her daughter was made whole from that very hour!!! May your faith make heaven answer you! Hebrew 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrew 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. When you seek God DILIGENTLY, he will embarrass you with his blessings! He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Faith means we are convinced of things we do not see. It is the assurance of things hoped for; a conviction of things not seen. The evidence of faith is that you have peace of mind and are no longer gittery. Faith means you have confidence in God, you trust and believe him BEFORE you see the manifestation. Brethren, real faith is built on the word of God that you can take to the bank as a collateral!!! Psalm 91:15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. Almighty God cannot fail or lie. He is reliable and dependable. He will not fail you. He will hearken to your voice! Then shall thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity (Isaiah 58:9). And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear (Isaiah 65:24). Ask and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find, knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened (Luke 11:9-10). HOW DOES GOD SEND HELP? 1.Through the manifestation of destiny helpers. In 2 Kings 25:27-30, Jehoiachin had been in jail for thirty-seven years. God can use anybody to help you. God used Evil-merodach to get Jehoiachin out of jail. May your destiny helpers locate you! 2.God can send help through the ministry of angels. Jacob was returning home after he had cheated his brother (Esau) as well as his uncle (Laban). In fact Esau had hired FOUR HUNDRED assassins to “take care” of Jacob. Jacob knew he couldn’t cheat his way out of this situation and so he decided to pray. As he prayed, God sent an angel to help him (Genesis 32:24). The angel changed his name from Jacob (supplanter) to Israel (prince). Likewise in 2 Kings 19:35, the angel of Jehovah smote the Assyrians. Senacherib had intended to wipe away Hezekiah but he was killed by his own children! I send an everlasting CONFUSION against all those planning evil against you!!! There are TWO angels following you daily: GOODNESS and MERCY. 3.God can send help through the careless errors of your adversaries. Absalom rebelled against his father (David). David prayed to God asking God to turn the counsel of Ahitophel to foolishness. After this prayer of David, Ahitophel then advised Absalom to go into battle alone. Your enemies will receive wrong counsel!!! WHY DOES GOD SEND DIVINE HELPERS? 1. Because he loves us. Jeremiah 31:3 I have love thee with an everlasting love:therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee 2.Because of the cross. We are JUSTIFIED by his blood (Romans 5:7-9). Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). WHEN DOES GOD SEND DIVINE HELPERS? 1.When we become desperate for his help like the Syrophoenician woman. At Shiloh, Hannah stayed behind after everyone had left and poured out her heart to God in prayer to the point that prophet Eli thought she was drunk! Brethren, those who are desperate go an extra mile. Hannah left Shiloh in faith because the bible tells us her countenance was no longer sad. 2.God sends help when we truly position ourselves for help. If you change your position (what you are doing), God will change your situation. Isaiah 59:1-2 tells us “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear”. 3.God sends help when you have forsaken all other alternatives and have the “It-is-God-and-only-God” attitude. 4.God sends help when you are a genuine destiny carrier like Jacob. 5.God sends help when you are on an assignment for him as in the case of Joshua. God rained down HAILSTONES from heaven to assist Joshua fight against his enemies! 6.God sends help when he looks at your past service record and offerings as in the case of Cornelius in Acts 10:1-8. The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; REMEMBER ALL THY OFFERINGS, and accept thy burnt sacrifice (Psalm 20:1-3). 7.God sends help for the glory of his name. Today, may God decide for you!!! HOW DO YOU GET HELP? 1.Believe he (God) is going to help you. 2.Pray fervently. Pray like the Syrophoenician woman. James 5:17 tells us Elias who was a man just like you and I prayed ERNESTLY that it might not rain on earth for three and a half years and it didn’t. Then he prayed again and the heaven gave rain!!! Daniel fasted for twenty-one days and God sent help but the Prince of Persia withstood the angel God sent to bring answers to his prayers. Can you imagine if he had stopped his fasting and praying after three day? He probably would’ve concluded that God had not answered his prayers! Matthew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. 3.Consecrate yourselves. This is separation from sin unto God. It is cleansing yourselves from every filthiness of the flesh (2 Corinthians 7:1). Many are living in hatred, resentment, envy, jealousy, covetousness, evil speaking, and so on! The bible says “If God be for us, who can be against us?” Brethren, don’t be your own enemy!!! Forgive because you love yourself. Make a decision that it does not matter what someone does to you, YOU WILL NOT TAKE OFFENSE!!! This is because what is at stake is worth MUCH MORE than that person. Joseph found help while he was in prison because he consecrated himself. He (Joseph) became a supervisor of prisoners while in prison (Genesis 39:21-23). May God show you MERCY!!! May you love righteousness and hate iniquity! May God circumcise your hearts! Brethren, it is possible that for the rest of your lives, you, your children, and your entire generation will never lack divine help!!! By consecration, faith, humility, and giving, God will arise for you! Help will come your way! Song: I have a God, who NEVER fails! AMEN, Jesus NEVER fails forevermore!!! PRAYER 1.Lord, be thou a help to me (Deut. 33:7). 2.Mighty men of valor helped David on a day by day (1st Chronicles 12:21-22). Father, send help to me on a daily basis! 3.Father, let my enemies leave me alone (2 Chronicles 18:31). 4.Uzziah was marvelously helped (2 Chronicles 26:15). Lord, make me a global champion! I do NOT want to remain a local champion!!! 5.Father, connect me to my divine helpers. Let those who have forgotten me remember me!!! 6.Father, disperse your angels to help me. Let them begin to kill whosoever they need to kill in order for me to be helped! Song: Hold on, help is on the way! The Lord gave the word; GREAT is the company of those that published it (Psalm 68:11)
