LORD INCREASE MY FAITH HEBREWS 11:1 “NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. (Amplified Bible) When you and I say LORD INCREASE MY FAITH, many times in the back of our minds we are thinking that the more faith I have then the quicker what I believe for will show up. But is that really the case? When I say LORD INCREASE MY FAITH, I am saying, just like Abraham, may I have the strength to wait for the promised son even though physically my body is wasting away and it seems impossible to have a child. Once I have that child and you Lord, ask me to sacrifice him, May I have the strength to believe that you will show up even though my only son is on the altar and I have a knife in my hand ready to cut his throat. When I say LORD INCREASE MY FAITH I am saying Lord, when my enemy is in pursuit of me just like Moses and the children of Israel, and all I can see before me is a great sea, may I still believe that you know what you are doing. When you tell me to raise my staff and part the waters, though my head tells me that is not possible may I obey and walk on dry ground. When I say LORD INCREASE MY FAITH I am saying just like Joshua when I am surrounded by walls that are keeping me away from my promised land, may I listen and obey the voice of God. Though it may look silly and unrealistic to those around me, may I go round the walls of Jericho and see them come tumbling down. Like Shadrach Meshach and Abednego I am saying that I know that the God that I serve He is able to deliver me but even if He chooses not to, still I will not compromise the standard He has laid down for my life. When I say LORD INCREASE MY FAITH I am saying Lord though you have not showed up before I get thrown in the fire and I am being thrown into the fire, I still believe that you can show up right in the middle of the fire. Like Daniel when I say LORD INCREASE MY FAITH I am not saying Lord save me from the lion’s den, but rather I will not compromise though they throw me into the den I still believe the lions will not consume me. Like Peter may I be quick to obey and jump on to the water when you beckon me to come rather than reason how that will work out. When I say LORD INCREASE MY FAITH, may I still wait on you though Lazarus may be dead buried and already decomposing. Give me the strength to believe that you can still raise him from the dead. For your faith to be increased it means you are telling God, place me in situations where I can exercise my faith, in other words bring impossible situations my way. Matthew 17:20 (NIV). I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Faith comes into effect when you are facing mountains and impossible situations in your life. I dont need faith when I have the money to pay the rent… I simply pay it. But the picture is different when I don’t have the money yet God has promised to supply and the landlord is knocking on my door. That’s the right environment for God to answer the prayer LORD INCREASE MY FAITH. So …are you still interested for the Lord to increase your faith? When faced with impossible situations, dont compromise or complain but rather remember the prayer you made….LORD INCREASE MY FAITH…..that’s the perfect opportunity for Him to answer your prayer. For the “LORD INCREASE MY FAITH” it means, you be in a situation where nothing and no one can be able to take you out. It is like having a terminal sickness that all doctors have given up on you, you have all the money but here you cannot buy healing, your friends and relatives are asking “what are we supposed to do?” only to realize there isnt much they can do and the only option is to turn to the Almighty God, Jehovah Rapha. When you are left with very few options or even none and you realize that only God your source of help, you actually need to say LORD INCREASE MY FAITH. That is when you will be able to trust God the more, be patient a little bit, and surrender to God so that He may have His own way. At that time when you look at the promises of God in His Word and wonder when will this ever come to be. At a time when the devil is bringing alternative options in your mind and you choose to stick to the Word of God and fully obey it. At time point and time, this prayer is necessary, “LORD INCREASE MY FAITH!” Thank you very much friends. May the Lord help us and increase our faith.
