LORD, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, Our ancestors possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good. (Jeremiah 16:19) your many enemies will become like fine dust, the ruthless hordes like blown chaff. Suddenly, in an instant, (Isaiah 29:5) The ruthless will vanish, the mockers will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil will be cut down-- (Isaiah 29:20) When you cry out for help, let your collection of idols save you! The wind will carry all of them off, a mere breath will blow them away. But whoever takes refuge in me will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain. (Isaiah 57:13) I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm. (Psalm 55:8) You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall (Isaiah 25:4) The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand; (Psalm 121:5) He will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain. (Isaiah 4:6) let them come to me for refuge; let them make peace with me, yes, let them make peace with me. (Isaiah 27:5) Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1) For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. (Psalm 27:5) Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. (Isaiah 12:2)
