LORD’S DAY SERVICE 5TH OCT, 2014. Morning Service 10.00 am First Bible Lesson—(Deut. 28:1-14) ‘BLESSINGS OF GOD WITH CAUTION—OBEDIENCE AND FAITH’ God so loved His Children that He wanted them to acquire all the wealth that are available on earth. He gave them these blessings on the simple caution of Faith and Obedience. “And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.” (verse 1). To hearken is to listen, to observe is to be obedient, and to do according to the instructions. This requires Faith to listen and do all as instructed. OUTCOMES OF THE OBEDIENCE AND FAITH:- 1. All blessings shall pursue and overtake you (verse 2) 2. Blessings in the city and in the field (working place) 3. Blessings of fruits of your body, your work and in your profession, and all your endeavours. 4. Blessings in all your activities in and out of your home/settlement. 5. Definite defeat of all enemies and adversaries. When they gang up and confront you in one way, they would be scattered in seven ways. 6. God will bless your storeroom and all your investments. 7. You shall be established as a holy man/woman of God. All people shall testify that you are an holy person of God. They shall give you respect for it. 8. You shall be multiplied in your family life, business and your investments. 9. God shall open to you His good hidden treasures, rain to water your land, and abundant blessings in all your pursuits. You shall be a lender and not a borrower. 10. You shall be the head (leader) in all your settlement and environment. You shall be at the top and not below (first and not the last) in the society. Second Bible Lesson—(2 Thess. 1:3-12) ‘GOD’S FINAL JUDGMENT AND GLORY’ APOSTLE Paul and his assistants Silvanus and Timothy were full of thanks to God in appreciation of the faith and love exhibited by the Church in Thessalonica among themselves. They acknowledged the patience, faith and endurance of the Church during the trying period of persecutions and tribulations which they suffered. They gave their firm belief that God will pay all their enemies with commensurate tribulations equally. In return the Church would be rewarded with peace and sweet rest among God’s faithful when Jesus would return for judgment. During the day of the Lord, there would be flaming fire to repay those who didn’t know God nor acknowledge the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their punishment would be everlasting destruction and alienation from God’s presence. The Day shall be a glorious day for Jesus among His saints who would be waiting to adore Him. The Apostle prayed that the Church in Thessalonica be counted worthy of God’s calling to fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power. Then the name of God shall be glorified in the Christians of Thessalonica and the Church would be glorified in Jesus Christ. MAY GOD COUNT US WORTHY OF HIS KINGDOM AND ETERNAL LIFE.
