LOT No B4202BIN(M) 1927 GOLD COAST > LONDON - COLLAGE ENVELOPE FRONT OF A MAN PLANTING SEEDS A remarkable collection of probably unique either hand-drawn or clip out image ‘collage’ envelope fronts (what a shame these are no longer complete covers) – but when you consider that these were created in 1927 or thereabouts this is an incredible collection. Usually such collage/hand-drawn envelopes may be seen from large countries such as the UK, USA etc… but to find these from the tiny British colony of Gold Coast in the period of KGV is just amazing beyond belief… Some defects and all adhere to reverse backing paper which we would not advise any attempt to remove. Noted interesting postmarks in places.. excellent images, once in a while possibly a little risqué. Simply extraordinary all apparently addressed to the same young lady. One can only surmise possibly a love affair? We have valued the hand-drawn fronts higher than the collages although some of the collages appear to have hand-drawn backgrounds.
