LOUGHMACRORY COMMUNITY NOTES - Remembering Sandra Sponsored walk – A 4 mile sponsored walk will take place on Saturday 5th April to remember Sandra on her 50th birthday. The walk will start at St Brigid’s Primary School, Mountfield and will finish at St Teresas Primary School, Loughmacrory, followed by a prayer at Sandras graveside and refreshments in Loughmacrory GAA Clubrooms. Proceeds will be going towards Termonmaguirc Cancer Patients Comfort Fund and a donation will be made to both schools. All outstanding sponsor cards should be handed in at the registration evening at Loughmacrory Primary School on Thursday 3rd April, 7pm-9pm. Everyone welcome. Rural Development Project – The major project at the lough is progressing according to plan. We are planning to officially open the facility on Saturday 5th July. This will be a big day for the local and wider community, so please try and keep this date free. - Handball - Congratulations to Antoin, Ronan, Colm and Shane who were all members of the Tyrone Under 14/15 Team of 6 which secured the Ulster Championship Team title on Monday evening against Monaghan. Our four young club members, along with Conor Kelly and Tiarnan McAleer will now go forward to contest the All Ireland Team Championship Finals day on Saturday 5th April. Well done again and best of luck to them on that next challenge. - Pilates – Men’s pilate classes have started in the clubrooms on Thursday evenings at 8.30pm. Everyone welcome to join in. - Lessor Spotted Ulster – Joe Mahon and the team were in Loughmacrory last week to film for an upcoming series of Lesser Spotted Ulster. The programme will be broadcast in the Autumn. We will keep you posted. - Graveyard Sunday – Takes place in Loughmacrory on Sunday 15th June (10am); Carrickmore on Sunday 8th June (11.30am) and Creggan on Sunday 1st June (9am). Youth Club – Takes place at the usual times. New members are always welcome to join. - Classes & Activities – LCDA are very keen to hear local people’s views about what classes or activities they feel should be organized in the area.
