LOVE AND INTIMACY WITH GOD 1 John 4: 7-8… 7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. Galatians 5:14… 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. In this day of life in Christ, we do not serve the law, as in Christ it is fulfilled through our relationship with Him, in His Love gift of grace through the cross and the empty tomb. Understand that though we no longer live under the law, we do not then live in lawlessness. It is out of the heart of Christ in us that we now live… Galatians 2:20… 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. We do not do that which will offend or defile our Lover, Christ Jesus, and again subject Him to the cross. And yet, when we fall, He is quick to speak to our hearts... Hebrews 12:6… 6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens... We do not need laws to govern us, we have intimate relationship with Christ, and the Holy Spirit and Abba Father Daddy God, to govern our hearts and motives. So what is this scripture Christ speaks of when He says… Matthew 7: 21-23... 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Oh such a warning is this… for we cannot earn this free gift of grace through His Love by works. There is a place in our relationship with Him, where we completely surrender our lives to Him and fall in love with the One who loved us first... as we learn of all His goodness, guided and mentored of the Holy Spirit, fed by the Bread of Life, His Word, and divine fresh revelation, direct encounters with the Godhead daily. In this, is conceived in us, the very Love of God. We are born in water as a child, from our mothers womb. We are then baptized in water and fire and born again… this symbolizes the consecration of the law of sin and death, and we enter in, not to the law, but relationship with God through the Love of Christ… and the River of God is then released into us to conceive the very Life of Christ. And so the seed is planted in our hearts, to grow, in Love and grace and mercy, from Him to us, and us to Him and to others… our Love for Him moves us from receiving His Grace from Him, to walking in His Love… we are transformed. And so we release Heaven wherever we go, like a fresh water spring flowing out of our bellies… living water pours out to those who need a drink of this precious life-giving resource… and this life lasts forever, never to thirst again… John 4:14… 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” We pour out willingly to others this Love, as it was given to us, it is only natural, instinctive… as we are the Bride of Christ... Revelation 19: 7-9… 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” … as any wife wants to bear fruit for her husband. And what kind of soil in our hearts has this seed fallen into? Notice the parable of the seed: Matthew 4: 3-7… 3 “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air[a] came and devoured it. 5 Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. 7 And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. 8 But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” Shall we confess Christ, do all kinds of works, and yet be void of Love toward others and allow our seed to fall into a life of religiosity and hypocrisy as we teach others of this Love? …or allow our seed to fall into the soil of compromise for the sake of our own agendas by some means of deception? Will we allow our seed to fall into shallow depth and settle for some of God, sit in our pews every Sunday quietly and pay our dues, without direct encounter with our Father in Heaven, and remain a fruitless womb for the Kingdom, holding on to our life, rather than lose it all for the sake of having all of Christ, perhaps being subject to the birds of the air? Will we come to the House of God with the thought of giving our due respect with self-centered agenda so as to receive from God, rather than coming with a others mentality and mindset as modeled by Christ? Will we try to earn His free gift, as Martha, through works, even study, and yet never know Him intimately? Yes, we might make it to heaven, but miss out on the very goodness of all God has for us. Or will we be as Mary and lay ourselves down at His feet totally given over to all God has for us for all eternity? The Apostle Paul speaks of the unfaithful Bride, who sleeps with another lover, back into law. It is amazing today how much of this teaching is still among the church today. Galatians 5:4… 4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. Yes, there are those whos seed has fallen into or been given into this strange lover. The enemy would love for us to fall back under law where he can accuse us once again, and void the work of the cross in our lives… for his very name, means accuser. Truth is, the work of the law was inferior and is surpassed by the New Covenant, Christ, the cross, the sacrificial Lamb. Christ did not abolish the law, but fulfilled it. James 2:10… 10 For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. Matthew 5: 17… “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. There is an eternal place for the enemy of God and man as well, the enemy and his fallen angels… a place that was never meant for Gods children... but for those children of rebellion who so choose to war against God, He reluctantly lets them go their own way… 2 Peter 3: 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise… but is longsuffering toward us… not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. And in our season, God will look upon us… having seen all, having known all… for what could we ever hide from the eyes of God? Will He find the Bride of His Son, a womb flowing the River of His Love?... His child whom He knows all so well?… whom He has known from many encounters during our lifetime?… If you do not know God in the way of intimate relationship, I invite you to walk this path with Him. The promise of eternity is so beautiful… all that God is is so wondrous… He longs for us to walk in the deeper places of His heart… Hebrews 6:1… Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to (the) perfection (of our faith). He longs to take us places in Him we know not of, places of His Glory… places of adventure... John 14:12… “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. I share this message today as a woman bears a child… in labor, a burden of eternal importance… This is your Father in Heaven, longing for intimate relationship with you… is He knocking on the door of your heart today? ...will you open the door and let Him in? PRAYER: Father in Heaven, I pray for those who read this today who might need a touch of Your Glory to walk outside of religiosity to truly know You, God… who might need to sail their boat further out into uncharted waters, out in the deep where deep cries out to deep… perhaps they need to step out of their boat, onto the water where You are today, Lord Jesus… Holy Spirit draw them closer to Your Heart, Lord… draw them to seek You, long for intimate relationship and direct encounter with You, Heavenly Father… let them hear and know Your very Heartbeat, Your deep, undying, unfailing Love for them… let Your Glory shine through the open Heavens above, Lord, that they might see their way… in Jesus name… amen... -Todd L Thomas
