LOVE YOUR NEIGBHBOR 2.0 – WEEK #4 - READINGS, QUESTIONS, AND EXERCISES - 1. Bible Reading: Proverbs 14.22, 14.31, 19.17, 22.9, 28.27; Isaiah 58.6-12; 1st John 3.16-18 2. From Matthew 25 and “the least of these” - Encountering Jesus on the Margins – You’ll run into someone who feels estranged, lonely, needy, broken, sick, or oppressed this week, that’s pretty much guaranteed. Slow down and treat or respond to them the very same way you would as if they were Jesus Himself. And, moreover, as you interact with them, be sensitive to encountering Jesus Himself in and through them. In fact, expect to find Jesus in them, and then after your interaction, reflect how that expectation proved itself true. 3. Entry Point Events – You heard Pastor Chris talk this week about the need for RT to have 9-12 of these events throughout the year. An “entry point event” is a way for our church family, or part of it, to come together around a shared interest, hobby, project, or event so that we can invite friends and “neighbors” to join in and experience RT and its people in a non-Sunday morning setting. Spend a little time this week considering what you like to do, what hobbies you have, or how you like to gather with friends that could become an “entry point event” for RT over the next year. In a few weeks, we’ll ask you to give us your best ideas on this.
