LOVER HAD STRANGULATED GIRL TO DEATH: A estranged lover murdered his girlfriend after she refused his proposal to marry in Central Kashmirs Budgam district, a police official said here on Friday. He said his men solved the blind murder of a girl who went missing from her home in Kremshore in Khansahab on June 3 this year. The girl, Gulshana, had left her home in the evening hours however didn’t return. Her family searched for her, and found her but their search ended on of June 3 when her sister spotted her body at Kremshore. Police was informed and a police party of Sub Division Khan Sahib rushed to the spot and took the custody of the body. The body bore strangulation marks around her neck. Subsequently, autopsy of the body was conducted at Sub District Hospital, he said. A case FIR Number 45/2014 under section 302 RPC was registered in Police Station Khan Sahib and investigation was started. During the investigation, it transpired that the deceased engaged to a person from Gogo by her parents. However, prior to this arranged engagement the deceased had an affair with Javid Ahmad Bhat who is a painter by profession, the police official said. The girl, police official said, had received a phone call from Javid in the evening and he had asked her to meet him at Reshinad. During questioning by police, Javid confessed that upon refusal of the girl to marry him and continue with the will of her parents, he got infuriated and in order to take revenge he strangulated her to death with her scarf on the spot and left the body there, the official said
