LRT fiasco. Shortly before 8am of Sept 23, the turnstiles of the LRT Vito Cruz station failed. Passengers alighting from three trains could only pass through one, creating a nifty little bottleneck. I was part of that trapped, growing crowd. Those already in the middle was able to go through that single working turnstile in about 10 minutes (it took only a couple at most when the gates worked), but it likely took longer for those at the peripheries of the crowd. Some people were already complaining loudly at how the LRT has managed to screw up their day by causing them to be late for work. One man was demanding compensation for what his office will charge him for being late for the day. I took my camera out and snapped these photos. One of the LRT personnel tried to prevent me from taking photographs. Thats the man with a black patch covering his face. He could have instead minded the gates and devised some way to facilitate the exit of the passengers detained by LRTs faulty gates, but he found it more pressing to prevent photography instead.
