LSU moved to 32-10-1 and 11-7-1 in the SEC with the 8-7 win over Tennessee. The Volunteers dropped to 25-15 and 7-12 in conference play. Joe Broussard (2-0) earned the win after entering the game in the ninth inning. Broussard struck out all three batters he faced. LSU and Tennessee return for Game 2 Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Freshman Jared Poche’ (6-3, 2.59 ERA) will make his 11th start for LSU while Tennessee will send left-hander Andy Cox (3-1, 1.62 ERA) for his seventh start of the year.
