LUKE 4:12 AND JESUS ANSWERING SAID UNTO HIM, IT IS SAID, THOU SHALT NOT TEMPT THE LORD THY GOD. this verse is from the tempting of CHRIST by satan for forty days. satan challenged CHRIST to throw himself from the top of a pinnacle to prove HE(JESUS) was the son of GOD. first of all, when you know who you are, and know what you know what you know, as far as scripture, and BELEIVE! no man nor devil can question you about what GOD said, or is doing. once again I turn to the apostle paul and this key verse Galatians 1:15-16 King James Version (KJV) 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mothers womb, and called me by his grace, 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: who could paul confer with? who knows the mind of GOD? what man counsels GOD? negative imput tends to tear down or at the least slow up positive plans! point two? THOU SHALT NOT TEMPT THE LORD THY GOD. in the way JESUS uses this verse in response to the devil. a better word for TEMPT, now a days, might be manipulate. I believe this section quoted by JESUS is originally from DEUTORONOMY 6 Deuteronomy 6:16 King James Version (KJV) 16 Ye shall not tempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. by the way, GOD can not be manipulated or tempted. not in the since that this scripture is written. a positive way to describe tested is FAITHFUL. young king dayid when faced by a bear and a lion did not face them alone. he recognized the HAND of GOD was with him. so when was faced by goliath? david chose not to wear king sauls suit of armor. stating the armor is not tested. but the GOD who delivered him from the lion and bear is faithful! 1 Samuel 17:37 King James Version (KJV) 37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee. david didnt test GOD. he relied on GOD. and what the devil was telling JESUS was to force GODS HANDS by acting irresponsibly. it would be a sin for JESUS to throw HIMSELF off the high point, or pinnacle. paul the apostle came to this conclusion in ROMANS 5:20, ... WHERE SIN ABOUNDED, GRACE ABOUNDED MUCH MORE.. but for those who see the SOVEREIGNTY and GRACE of GOD as a chance to do evil? as the devil wanted to.. paul goes on to explain Romans 6:1-2 King James Version (KJV) 6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? CLOSING: it is never good to do evil to advance good... theres something in the law about having, clean hands. meaning you cant be considered good if you partake in bad! this is exactly why our country is outraged at the moment with law enforcement. but thats not our focus.. smh finally, find out who you are in CHRIST. and grow to the man/woman that GOD has called you to be and dont let anyone tell you what you cant do for GOD. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH CHRIST.. 12 year old JESUS didnt let told may and joseph, YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN I WAS ABOUT MY FATHERS BUSINESS!
