LUMS 38-32 LSE Extending their streak to 8 wins in a row and winning the third match against LSE on their court, LUMS won its first tournament in recent history and claimed the LSE Sports Gala trophy. The match went underway and LSE quickly found themselves in foul trouble just 4 mins into the game. LSEs main guard had picked up 4 fouls by the end of the 1st and LSE found themselves in a pressure situation from the beginning of the game. LUMS capitalized on these fouls by converting almost all of their free throws. Despite that, the two teams were staying neck to neck in the 2nd quarter with LUMS just keeping a 3-4 point lead. LSE did good to keep a control on their fouls and ended up forcing LUMS to go into foul trouble. 3rd quarter started and Mr.Baig got rolling; there was no turning back from there. LSE tried manning Fardad with 4 different players at different points during the game but Fardad proved too much for each of them. The dazzling moves and impossible shots got the crowd on their feet as the game was slowly slipping away from the hosts. 4th quarter proved to be a match of endurance, as LSE was not able to stage a comeback. With some support being provided from HAmza and Shariq, Fardad was able to maintain his form and see LUMS through the finish line. This victory meant that LUMS had won the LSE sports Gala for the first time and won their first tournament in the past 4 years. However, basketball is still not over, as the team now turns its attention to the Nationals that they will be hosting from the 10th of April.
