LUSAKA TIGERS FC RELIEVES HEAD COACH WEBSTONE MUMBA Lusaka Tigers Football Club relieves Webstone Mumba of his duties as head coach of the FAZ Division One south outfit. Club patron Miles Sampa announced in Lusaka yesterday that assistant coach and former player Johnstone ‘Sekute’ Mwape takes over in the interim with the mandate of winning promotion to the Super Division for the Matero township side. Mwape will be assisted by Gabriel Chabu while Mumba has been deployed as the club scout to indentify talent in the community as the team starts the rebuilding process. “We are rebuilding as Lusaka Tigers FC after the resignation of long serving Chairman Sam Phiri at the beginning of the season, we want the team to be competing in the Super Division by next season” Sampa said. Sampa has since appointed an interim committee that will be headed by Oppa Hamiyanze as the club secretary, Sydney Chongwe as Team Manager, Lameck Njobvu Treasurer and Collins Mumbo as Committee member. The executive will be acting until elections are held to usher in a new executive during the coming Annual General Meeting (AGM). Meanwhile, pending the completion of rehabilitation works at Matero stadium; Lusaka Tigers will be using the Independence stadium as their home ground.
