LV DE (auf #Deutsch) (EN) - Laimdota Straujuma, Latvian Prime Minister (in Latvian): We all agreed on the fact that the EP and the Latvian Presidency have to work hand by hand for the benefit of the European #citizens, we have to make sure that the citizens are at the centre of our actions so that nobody feels left behind and the citizens feel needed by the EU. Martin Schulz - European Parliament President (in German): “In the next 6 months ahead of us we need to work very hard, we need to focus on the Juncker’s #300billion investment plan. Europe needs growth, but not only growth for the sake of it, we need growth that can create employment”. Laimdota Straujuma, Latvian Prime Minister (in Latvian): “All the legal acts that the investment programme by Commission’s President Juncker need to be prepared during our 6 months Presidency so that the plan can start functioning in mid-2015. (...) (On Russia-Ukraine) No EU member state wants the cold war to return, nor the sanctions to be permanent. However we cannot ignore that one country can just take a part of a different country” Martin Schulz, EP President (in German): “The abnormal state of affairs (between Russia and the EU) is due to action taken on the Russian side.
