LYME UPDATE: Have my first appointment with Lyme dr Thursday. First consultation $350. Bloodwork $200. That doesnt include antibiotics which can range from hundreds - thousands depending on how severe it is and complications that can ensue. I guess you can say Im relieved that Im taking this step but kind of scared at the same time. Not so afraid of my fate but more of being a financial burden to my family. Reason Im sharing: I want everyone to know that chronic Lyme disease is ignored by the CDC and IDAS & patients must pay for their own treatment. Awareness is important if we want the CDC to change their guidelines and put people on their panels who have chronic lyme; not people who have a financial stake in the treatment of Lyme.
