Labelling foods as clean and dirty, good and bad is an all too - TopicsExpress

Labelling foods as clean and dirty, good and bad is an all too common error which can not only lead to nutrient deficiencies, but more serious problems such as disordered eating in more severe cases. Whether a food source is a good or bad choice is largely dependant on what else you have eaten or plan to eat on any given day. For instance, pizza is often labelled as a junk, cheat or unclean food source but if your comparing a days food intake of chicken breast and broccoli to a similar caloric intake from pizza, then pizza would in many cases be the superior choice when consideration is given to micronutrient diversity and density. Of coarse the type of pizza in questions is of relevance as well as overall protein intake.
