Labor Day Weekend - Audubon, Iowa is hosting the "Wall that Heals" at John James Audubon Park. The Wall is a replica of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Wall in Washington, D. C. It is a time to remember over 58,000 who gave their lives. One way to honor the fallen and reflect on the service of millions of Americans is to take time to come to the Wall. " The Wall that Heals" is open 24 hours a day beginning August 30 thru September 2. There is no charge for admission and numerous ceremonies throughout the weekend. VOLUNTEERS are needed thru out the weekend. The ceremonies are: "AWAKENING" - 7 AM - August 31(Sat.), Sept. 1(Sun.) and Sept. 2 (Mon.) "OPENING" - 6:30 PM - August 30(Friday) - Food available after 5 PM. "REFLECTION CEREMONY" - Noon August 31 ( Sat.) - Food available after 11 AM. "CLOSING"- 6:30 PM September 2(Mon.) - Food available after 5PM.
