Labor Day is a movie that portrays the effects of Stockholm - TopicsExpress

Labor Day is a movie that portrays the effects of Stockholm syndrome, in which a hostage falls in love with her captor. The acting by Brolin and Winslet is not bad, but theyre caught up in a script and plot that are so farfetched anyone would have difficulty bringing said script to life. I dont feel the actors do a convincing enough job selling the credibility of the storyline. The movie is also unnecessarily dark and brooding at times, and creates a feeling of abhorrence rather than sympathy. The romance that develops is sweet but is not enough to compensate for the sheer absurdity and improbability of the script. On top of that, the pacing of the movie is uneven, which goes to a haphazard execution. Theres nothing AWFUL about this movie, but it is riddled with execution problems ----------------- C+
