Labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) yesterday claimed the bill - TopicsExpress

Labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) yesterday claimed the bill that was recently approved by the Senate and seeks to raise the tax cap for 13th month pay and other benefits from P30,000 to P82,000 would benefit only a few workers, not the majority of the country’s workers. In a prepared statement, the labor group also said Senate Bill 2437 is a case of “too little, too late” even for the workers who would stand to gain from the measure. “Increasing the tax cap would not give any economic relief to the majority of Filipino workers who have long been subjected to poverty wages and widespread contractual employment. Even for those who would gain from the bill, the case is one of too little, too late,” said Elmer “Bong” Labog, KMU chairman. tribune.net.ph/metro/kmu-says-p82-000-tax-exemption-will-benefit-only-a-few-not-most-workers
