Labor-style media reform at the old Wallabadah General Store: - TopicsExpress

Labor-style media reform at the old Wallabadah General Store: Owners Glen and Kim Sheluchin were so outraged by the front page of a News Corporation Sydney metro they refused to sell copies in protest. Do not speak its name, lest you summon it! It featured a full-page photo of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd with an editorial headlined “Kick this mob out”. Incensed Mrs Sheluchin, a proud Labor supporter, vowed then and there to remove it from her store. “I won’t have it on my shelves, it’s clearly prejudicial and I’ve got no reason to sell the paper to people.” At the same time, her entire store is currently for sale. The ad appears at realestate.au, which is 60 per cent owned by News and is cited as one of the reasons behind Fairfax’s decline. Nice doing business with you, Mrs Sheluchin.
