Laboratory Technician DTU Nanotech (Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology), is an international research and education nano-science Department based at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). DTU Nanotech undertakes interdisciplinary research involving scientists from relevant areas in physics, chemistry, molecular biology and engineering. At the Colloids & Biological Interface Group (CBIO), we are searching for a highly motivated laboratory technician with strong ambition and commitment to a productive environment. The CBIO group comprises the fields of organic synthesis, physical chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology. Responsibilities and tasks We are looking for a laboratory technician for a research project which aims to develop polymeric drug delivery particles. As a technician in the lab you will have a central role in coordinating the repair and preventive maintenance of lab equipment; assisting in experiments using established protocols and procedures, and recording results of experiments; plus other job duties as assigned. The successful candidate will also be involved in the particles preparation by inverse micro and mini emulsion polymerization. Experience in both polymers and small molecules synthesis for the particles preparation, as well as analytical skills for the particles characterization by means of several techniques (DLS, TEM, AFM and cryoTEM) is also required. Qualifications The applicant will have experience in inverse micro and mini emulsion polymerization technique for microparticle preparation, polymer and small molecule synthesis and analytical skills for their characterization by DLS, TEM, AFM and cryoTEM. You must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry with at least one year of experience.
