Laci needs a new foster home. Looking for a home where someone is - TopicsExpress

Laci needs a new foster home. Looking for a home where someone is home most of the time. She will break out of a crate or xpen when alone. Must be an ABMR approved foster home. Laci is also available for adoption. Laci profile: She came to us shortly after her 10th birthday which was in August 2014. After a life of having several litters of puppies, she has now been spayed learned very quickly how to be a house dog. Laci quickly gained 15+ pounds and doesnt refuse any food, however most of her teeth are worn down so she has to have her kibble softened with a little water before she eats. She is able to enjoy soft dental type chew sticks, and soft treats, too. Her left front leg was broken long ago by all appearances, and Laci is unable to jump or run too fast, though she has moments where she races around the yard with her foster dogs, sometimes taking a few limping steps. She does not appear to be in any pain during her daily activies. Laci is learning the joys of taking walks outside, and prefers to be outside in the dark vs the daylight, but is slowly coming around and enjoying walks in the woods during the day. She loves children, and has never shown aggression towards them. She enjoys putting her front feet up on her humans lap when they sit down to watch tv, hoping to be brought up on the couch to snuggle, and she shows respect for the dinner table, staying in another room and not begging for food (though she would happily take anything offered!). Laci gets along well with other dogs, and will only snark back if a dog acts aggressive to her. She believes she is going to be accepted everywhere, and will sometimes push other dogs out of the way if she thinks a human is going to pet her, so some dogs may not appreciate her boldness. In the same vein, Laci does not show any concern if another dog pushes her out of the way (as long as its not growling and aggressive), and does not protect a personal space bubble of her own. She has not shown any aggression towards our chickens, though has not been tested with cats yet. She has met small dogs and has been fine with them. Laci rarely barks, but will make talking noises to get your attention if she needs to go outside to do her business. Lacis great joy is destroying soft fuzzy toys! She will also rip up her dog bed, but has never bothered anything that is her humans, such as blankets or clothing. If something is on the floor or near her bed, she may think its hers, especially if its soft, like a toy, towel, or blanket, and may try it out. Her teeth prove that she has enjoyed a lifetime of chewing. Will you please give Laci the loving attention she craves?
