Lackawanna County Convention & Visitors Bureau Board Tabs Florida Tourism Executive as New Executive Director SCRANTON—Ron Prislupski, Chairman of the Lackawanna County Convention & Visitors Bureau Board, announced that Susan Estler has been named Executive Director of the organization. Ms. Estler is a career tourism professional who comes to Northeast PA from Florida with over a decade’s worth of industry experience in both Panama City Beach and Bradenton, Fl. A native of Morristown, NJ, she was most recently the Vice President of Marketing for the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau. During her time there, she created a strong domestic and international public relations program, navigated the marketing program through the 2010 BP oil spill, and marketed the opening of the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. Lindsay Bennett of Lou Hammond & Associates, who represents the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, said Susan approaches projects with a collaborative, team-oriented attitude, and what makes her most impressive is her “ability to streamline efforts and maximize a budget.” Ms. Estler has been honored with an Award of Excellence by Hospitality Sales & Marketing Associations International (HSMAI). She is also the recipient of numerous additional accolades both with Bradenton and Panama City Beach including Gold Awards for Positioning, CVB Visitor Guide, Public Relations and Marketing. She was also recognized with an Excellence Award for her work by VISIT FLORIDA for her marketing campaigns. Prior to her work in Panama City Beach, Ms. Estler was Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau in Florida. She also served as Vice-Chair of the Promotions Committee and Chair and Vice-Chair of the Advertising and Internet Committee for VISIT FLORIDA-the state’s marketing organization. Sara Patterson, former advertising manager for VISIT FLORIDA, lauded Estler’s leadership qualities and said, “she is innovative, professional, and holds herself and everyone around her to a higher standard.”
