Ladies 4s go into the Xmas break with a hard fought 0-0 draw at Phoenix. This was our best attacking performance of the season; in previous games, despite our superior possession, we hadnt managed to break into the D very much. Today however the team got into lots of dangerous positions and worked the ball around well to create several chances, which unfortunately we couldnt convert. However a draw was overall a fair result. Highlight of the game was Kwai Laus 3D skills, where she picked up the ball and juggled it down the wing! Another highlight was our makeshift defence playing very well to keep them at bay; thank you to regular midfielders and attackers Jo Brunt, Jessica Horton and Alex for stepping up in defence! POM was Jane Blackborow who has made a very smooth transition from attack into midfield. POP were Michelle Twitchett and Kwai. So today we didnt get the win we wanted, but the team goes into the Xmas break knowing they have made huge improvements in the last few weeks. Ive seen the team add something new to their game every week; Im very proud of how theyve taken on new things and taken it straight into the games, and also of their amazing team spirit, whatever the circumstances and results. Onwards and upwards ladies, loved coaching you so far and looking forward to the rest of the season :) Kiesha Dwyer and I are warming up!!!
